'Jimged' Ary Sendy Trisdiarto

Born 1978 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Graduated from photography at the Faculty of Film and Television, Jakarta Institute of Arts. He is interested in consumption patterns in urban life associated with rapid and inevitable world changes. Jimged observes these things through social, political, geographic, and historical lenses. A variety of image-recording actions are embodied in his artistic practice. Within this framework his observations result in a point of view that demands our understanding the power constellations operating in our living spaces today. Some of the major exhibits / projects: Migration: Speaking Nearby (Asia Culture Center, Gwangju, 2019); FOMO / JOMO, (RUBANAH Underground-Hub, Jakarta, 2019); Local Genius (Taman Budaya Palu, Central Sulawesi, 2018); OK.Pangan: OK.Video—Indonesia Media Arts Festival (Gudang Sarinah Ekosistem, Jakarta, 2017); with Julia Sarisetiati in What Does Art Do? (Gwangju Biennale, South Korea, 2016) and 125.660 Specimens of Natural History (Galeri Salihara, Jakarta, 2015). At the end of 2018, his latest solo exhibition entitled Daur Amanat was exhibited at RUBANAH Underground-Hub, Jakarta, curated by Grace Samboh.
